Hindemith Loops (for cello and electronics)
Meant to bridge the gap between technology and the classical concert program, Hindemith Loops is a series of short soundscapes to be played attacca between movements of Paul Hindemith's Cello Sonata, Op.25 No.3. At the end of each movement of the sonata, the performer then activates their electronics and builds a loop to improvise over. Each cell of music, whether it builds the accompanimental loop in the background or is part of the improvisation, is derived from Hindemith's sonata itself.
